A boating trip turned into a viral mystery this week after a crew shared what they described as a “terrifying siren pack” pursuing their vessel. The recording, posted online late Tuesday, has racked up hundreds of thousands of views as viewers debate what the eerie sounds and shadowy shapes in the water might actually be.
In the video, crew members can be heard shouting as several dark figures appear to follow the boat at a distance. Haunting, high-pitched calls echo over the engine noise, prompting some online commenters to claim the crew captured real “sirens” or mythical sea creatures on camera.
Experts, however, are urging caution.
Marine biologists who examined the footage say the sounds and shapes are more likely linked to known marine wildlife. Some suggest the vocalizations resemble those of dolphins or seals, distorted by wind, engine vibration, or the phone’s microphone. Others say low-light conditions and water movement can easily turn ordinary animals into unsettling silhouettes.
Despite the lack of evidence for any supernatural explanation, the video continues to circulate rapidly, fueled by speculation, reaction videos, and online debates.
The crew has not released additional footage but maintains that what they witnessed “did not look or sound like any sea animals” they had encountered before.
Authorities say there is no investigation underway, as no safety threat has been identified. Experts remind the public that viral videos can be misleading and encourage viewers to consider natural explanations before jumping to conclusions.
